Objectives: Students should be able to:
Knowledge:
• Define the term technology with 85% accuracy.
• State the role of technology in our lives with 90%
accuracy.
• List various forms of technology utilize within the
school and at home.
Skill:
• Utilize a teacher made fan to form the generalization
that technology makes life easier.
• Illustrate one form of technology and write at least 2
sentences of how it has made life easier.
Attitude:
• Display enthusiasm by eagerly participating in
classroom activity.
• Display an appreciation for the opinions of other when
they speak.

Lesson Content:
Technology is anything that makes life easier, whether at home, school or at places of business. It may be as simple as a toothbrush or as complex as a heart monitor.
Previous Knowledge:
Students are familiar with various kinds of technology since they are used in their daily lives.
Teaching Materials:
Chart with the definition of technology and it various implications on daily life.
Teacher made fans, pictures or various forms of technology.

Introduction:
Teacher dramatizes ‘feeling hot and tired/jaded’. Teacher presents students with teacher made fans and asked to use them. Whilst doing so teacher draws to students’ attention the ways, in which the fan was improved by pretending she needs to use both hands but is still felling very hot and needs cool air. Elicit from students how can this problem be solved. Allow for short responses
Expected response: “Teacher maybe a fan or an air conditioner.”
Development:
Step 1
Based on the introduction, guide student to form the generalization as to what is Technology. Have students recognize that technology responds to various needs that have arisen. Ask students, “Why were these things invented? Then let students identify other forms of technology that have made life easier.

Pencil Pens Fork/sthingy
Step 2
Have students use the microwave to pop the popcorn. Teacher open can of cheese using a knife and open can of beans using a can opener. Elicit from students the importance technology is playing in these actions. Encourage students to explain how technology aids these actions as of how they think it was done years ago.

Step 3
Present chart with definition of technology. Have students recognize the importance of technology for globalization and international trade. Ask students how many of them have an email address or have heard of one. Guide students through recognizing the importance of technology for communication.
Closure:
Reiterate the importance of the importance of technology on our lives today and for the future.
Application:
Draw a picture of one of the following forms of technology and write two sentences to say how it has made life easier.
