the outline of a concept cluster
With the picture of a girl named Millicent
The chart will contain a semantic map to be used in the story cluster.
The chart will have four arrow outline four key questions used in character analysis.
Content Outline:
Previous Knowledge:
Introduction: The teacher will give the class an over-view of the character Millicent
Development:
1. The teacher will have the class engage in silent reading of the story, Millicent. After the students have read the literature piece the twill move to step 2.
2. The Professor will engage the class in a discussion about the story. The focus of the discussion will be the main character Millicent. The teacher will elicit from students answers to the following questions:
What does Millicent look like?
What does Millicent say?
What does she think?
What does she do?
What do the other characters say about the character?
The answer to the questions were noted on the chalk board
3. The students will draw a character cluster based on the information noted on the chalk board. The cluster will resemble a semantic map.
Closure: : The teacher will have students state what they have learnt during the lesson.
Application: : The teacher will have students add another strand, “What do other people say about the character?” ,to the cluster that was not discussed.
