Previous Knowledge:
Students should know what adjectives are and be able to give examples of adjectives. Also they have described a policeman before should be able to describe another community worker and they should know how to complete a substitutional drill.
Resource Materials:
Substitutional drills, Projector, Smart board, Laptop
Objectives:
Students should be able to:-
• identify adjectives used to describe a Fire Fighters based on the story
• construct sentences to describe Fire Fighters
• develop a love for using adjectives to describe community workers
Introduction:
Teacher will show students the story “Fire Fighters” using the projector. Have students identify the community worker mentioned in the story. Teacher will then use the smart board to show students pictures of fire fighters and have students brainstorm and discuss about a Fire Fighters.
Development:
Step 1
Teacher will place information given by the students in the form of a webbing on the chalkboard. Based on the information given students will try and elicit from the students to construct sentences. Teacher will emphasize the meaning of adjectives periodically and will clarify misconceptions of adjectives.
Step 2
Teacher will have students orally construct their own sentences using adjectives to describe Fire fighters.
Teacher will correct students if necessary and emphasize the meaning of adjectives constantly.
Closure:
Teacher will do an example of a substitutional drill with students
