Subject: reading Topic: oral reading Time: 9:35- 10:15 Ability: mixed Grade: one (1) Mayor outcomes: Learning outcomes: at the end of the lessons the students should be able to Construct meaning: identify words in the passage. -acknowledge punctuation mark. Strategies and skills: read with correct pronunciation, enunciation and intonation - read with correct phrasing - read fluency and expressively. Attitudes and habit: develop a positive attitude towards reading. Instructional materials: checklist texts flash cards Prior knowledge: children are familiar with the passage, can identify words and read independently. Introduction: play game red light, green light 1, 2, 3 to review words for the week. Development of the lesson Step: 1. introduce students to checklist allow students to read each items in the checklist and explain each items. Stet2: teacher will model good reading to the students. Students will be encouraged to listen while the teacher is reading. Step3: distribute reading text to students allow students to read together in groups. Let students evaluate themselves using the oral reading checklist. Closure: allow students to read individually. Application: let students read specific lines in the passage. E.g. line 3, 4, 6 etc. Evaluation:
